Lantern Hollow

★★★★★ 4.5 Editor rating

Lantern Hollow is a slow, atmospheric adventure about exploring a quiet valley town and uncovering why its lights keep going out. It's light on action and heavy on mood, with hand-drawn backgrounds you'll want to just sit and look at. You tap to move, examine, and solve small environmental puzzles.

The puzzles are the right kind of tricky. Most are logical once you've paid attention to the scene, and the game trusts you to connect the dots without flashing hints every few seconds. When we did get stuck, it was usually because we'd skimmed past a detail, not because the puzzle was unfair.

Pacing is deliberately unhurried, which won't be for everyone, but if you like a game that feels like reading an illustrated storybook, this one lands. We played it mostly at night, and it fit that quiet mood perfectly.
