What to prioritize in your first week of Pocket Harvest Town

April 21, 2026 · Mikael Rautio

Pocket Harvest Town is forgiving, so you can't really ruin your save, but a bit of focus in the first few days makes everything feel smoother. My biggest early mistake was spreading myself thin, planting a dozen different crops and barely tending any of them properly.

The better approach is to lock in one or two reliable crops for steady income, then reinvest into whatever unlocks the next tier of buildings. Animals are tempting early but they need space and attention, so I'd hold off until your farm layout settles down.

The townsfolk requests are your best compass. They basically tell you what to build next and reward you for it, which keeps you moving without any grind. I treated them as a loose quest log and it kept my little town growing naturally.

Don't stress about the timers. This is a check-in game, not a sit-and-grind one. Water your crops, read a request or two, maybe place a new shop, and let it simmer. That slow rhythm is the whole point, and leaning into it is where the sim gets genuinely relaxing.
